If the first two cameras are dark check camera 3 for infrared
night time viewing.
2007 Eastern Phoebe Nest2
After all the chicks died in the first nest, I continued observing the
two nesting places that they have used in the past but there was no
activity. I finally realized after a few weeks that the birds had
built a new nest in a totally new location and it was very difficult
to get a camera in close without disturbing the nest.
The young all fledged and it was a total success so next year I will
be prepared to watch the new location for activity and get the
cameras into position before eggs appear in the nest. Here are some
pictures that I was able to get of the nest that did have a total
mite infestation.

2007 Eastern Phoebe Nest1
All the chicks died the morning of the 19th of May, 2007.
It was very cold that night and the adult female didn't sit on the
birds, it was getting a little crowded but I have seen previous
females sit on the nest when the chicks were much bigger.
I was under the impression this was her first nest from the very
beginning but was hoping for a better outcome.
She did several things that were odd or out of character for female
Phoebes that have been here in the past.
