![]() Here's what it looks like in PX-16 mode. Pretty much a plain-Jane DOS compatible. Keyboard is pretty. |

COMMENTS As usual, Epson likes to make their machines EXTREMELY flexible! The PX-16/HC-160 is no exception. The keyboard and the display were both changeable. In the PX-16 configuration, the keyboard and display were conventional. In the HC-160 configuration, it became a POS computer with a special programmable keypad. Either way, the disk drive subsystem was removable and programs would be stored in RAM.

![]() Swap out the display and keyboard and now you've got the HC-160. An excellent POS terminal. The greenish section where the keyboard is normally at is a touch screen. |

![]() Here's the docking base. You get a floppy drive (720K) and room for a second floppy. I checked and the circuitry isn't there for a hard drive. |
![]() Here's how things are swapped out. Keyboard is held in place by a couple of tabs and screws. Display is held in by a slide-in connector and a retaining screw. You can also see 3 ROM holders for adding embedded applications. |
